On Remembrance Sunday, 8th November, a representation from Moseley Ashfield CC joined Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club in remembering the fallen at a much reduced commemoration, due to Covid-19 restrictions, at the Memorial on the Billesley Common ground, reflecting the close ties that the two clubs have had over the past 120 years. (The memorial was also, for many years, sited at The Graveyard following the rugby club’s departure from the The Reddings in 2000).
The Moseley Ashfield wreath was laid by Club President, Peter Haynes and the commemorative poem “In Flanders Fields” was read by his wife Liz Haynes. Also in attendance were Club Chairman Guy Shears, Welfare Officer Angela Brown and Youth Manager Rob Green who sounded the Last Post and Reveille.
